6 Month Update

Today is exactly 3 months from my due date. It's coming very quickly and is very exciting. The baby is doing really well. He becomes more and more active everyday. I had a check up today and the Dr. couldn't find his heartbeat, but we weren't worried... my whole belly was moving, like he was doing barrel rolls in there. Eventually he settled down enough to get a good reading of his heart and it is perfect. I'm growing right on schedule, which was comforting, because everyone keeps giving me a hard time about being so small. John and I think I'm huge, but it's nice to know the baby and me are growing fine. The nursery is finished, besides some finishing touches. It's adorable. I have made a list of the things we still need and it is not too long. It will be so weird to day I have to actually go out and buy diapers! Friday is Johns birthday, and we have an ultrasound appointment so that will be fun to see him again. It's been 6 weeks since my last one. I got John some cute presents for his birthday that are really for the baby... but he will be excited about them. I'll post what they are after he opens them. Well, I'm still loving every minute of being pregnant. I told John people must think I'm crazy because everytime he moves or kicks, I find myself smiling. Strangers must think I'm weird walking around with a silly grin on my face. It has been amazing, but the 3rd trimester is definitely manifesting itself. I have more backaches, leg cramps, trouble catching my breath, CRAVINGS, irritability, trouble sleeping, and OCD about cleanliness than I ever thought I would. But it is all worth it, without a doubt! I can't wait for him to be here. John and I keep reminding each other how lucky we are. We will never forget this roller coaster. The last year and a half of our marriage has been all about starting our family, and we are so close! It seems appropriate that the end of the year and the end of my pregnancy are at the same time. January is always a new, fresh beginning, and the beginning of our new life as parents.

Glad you and baby are doing well and that you still love being pregnant...enjoy it! It's so exciting! And "new life" as parents is definitely the correct terminology to use - it's a whole 'nother world. Good Luck : ) You guys will be great

I am so happy you are doing so well! That's so good to hear! Well, I am a little bummed also that we won't get to be new mommies together. I totally wish that I was right where you are but my time will come, right?!?! Anyway, we need to get together SOON! Let me know when's good for you!
