The day finally came! We left for Davis Hospital at 5:30am. I had gotten 2 hours of sleep that night, anxiously waiting for the alarm to go off.
I was hooked up to the monitors and pitocin. The baby looked good and I started having regular contractions. At 7:45 my Dr came and broke my water. Then labor really began. I waited out the really painful contractions for 1 hour before requesting the epidural. He came right in and it was so worth it. I didn't enjoy the procedure, and HATED the feeling of my lower body being paralyzed, but it was better than the intense pain. A few hours later I was 5 cm. One hour after that I was 8 cm, and 1 hour after that I was 10! We let the baby rest and descend for 30 min. At 2:30 the Dr came in and asked if we were ready to be parents. I was already crying. No pain, just overwhelming emotion of what was really happening. I pushed through 3 contractions and his head was halfway out when his heart rate dropped. They gave me oxygen, and it didn't help, so in a matter of seconds the Dr was explaining that the baby needed to come out right away and was going to use the forceps. It was scary, but all happened very fast. One more contraction and Boston was born. It was 2:45pm. He was perfect, in every way. John cut the cord, and followed the baby to the warming station. It was the most amazing experience of my whole life. John and I will never forget it.
He surprised us all by weighing 8 lb and 5 oz. He was a big healthy baby boy!
Thanks to the forceps, I ripped pretty bad, so I was getting stiched up for a while before I could spend time with him. It was so sweet to be able to watch John with him. I could not wait to see his little face and finally kiss it.
After I was all done, and the baby was clean, they let us bond with him in the delivery room for an hour. Our moms both joined us then, anxious to see their new grandson. We were transfered to the post partum room, and had lots of visitors. I hated every time the nursery had to come and take him from us. We could not get enough of him.
We are so blessed to have a healthy son and that I'm recovering well. I feel very lucky to have had a fairly easy and fast labor for a first time mom. The recuperating will take some time, but there is no doubt about it, he is so worth it.
We came home friday morning, and have been enjoying all this time we have together before John goes back to work. Everything he does is new and exciting and adorable. We can't stop taking pictures and videos of this little guy. I hope everyone else thinks he is cute, because you will be seeing a lot of him now!

Michele! What a beautiful baby boy! Congrats on the new bundle of joy! That's so exciting! I can't wait to start having little ones too!
So michele, I loved reading about everything that happened, I remember talking about whether or not you would want John to stay with you or follow the baby, so I see you decided he would follow the baby!! Good decision, I think I like that one also! Boston is adorable, totally looks like a Hunt, I love it!
