Things have been busy here at our house... Boston is getting some new teeth - at least he better be or else the 3 times he is waking up in the night must stop!
John brought this home to me the other day... I have wanted this picture of my temple forever and I was so excited to hang it on my freshly painted walls. Which has been our latest project... painting the family room.
We painted the family room a gray/green/blue shade. I love the color. Then we hung new drapes and hung 2 ceiling fans. I need some throw pillows and a fireplace makeover and then this room might be my favorite in the house.
Next house project.. paint kitchen, living room, staiway, guest bath, and hallway. No big deal.
But on my list of things to do this week... start our adoption Home Study. Also no big deal, I just need to fill out a long application, have a criminal backround check, come up with every certificate and license we have ever had our names on, hire an attorney for finalization, get medical clearance, have our family and friends write glowing references on our behalf, read and sign a stack of documents higher than the stack to close on our house, prove that we have the money to pay for this adoption (which makes me wonder... do we have the money??) the list goes on and on. What I'm dreading the most? I have to put together our profile. This is what the birth mother will read about us to make her decision. I have to write what will probably be the hardest letter I have ever written.... Dear Birth Mother,
Wish me luck.

Good luck with the letter! You are going to be great and anyone would be lucky to have you guys adopt from them!! GOOD LUCK!
I LOVE your drapes. And don't worry about your letter, everything about you is a reflection of your love for Boston and your love of being a mother. The right person will know. Please tell me you have watched Juno and laughed about this serious process!
I love the color of your walls. I really need to bite the bullet and paint in our house. That picture is beautiful too. I also need to buy some art for our home. Man so many things to do a so little time. Good luck with the lack of sleep and the letter. I am sure they will both work out and be over with before you know it. :)
Michele, I read your blog last night and then I had a dream about it, weird I know. But in my dream I was reading the letter you wrote and it made me want to give my baby to you. . . not gonna happen, sorry, but I know you'll do awesome! Good luck with everything! Love the family room by the way and I am totally coveting that picture of the Temple, I love it!

I love your family room. I have been meaning to leave a comment after reading this post. One of my friends gave her baby up for adoption and I asked her what she was looking for and what she wanted to read about. She mentioned that a lot of it was spiritual for her, but she was looking for a fun couple who were really open and family oriented. She said that if you wanted to contact her adoptive family she would give you their e-mail. The family is really willing to help anyone and to talk about what they went through. Send me your e-mail if you would like to talk to them. I hope this helps some. You really have a wonderful family!
