10 days of 70 degree weather

The kids and I just got home from our extended stay in california.  We flew out, all 4 of us as a family, and planned to stay for 4 days.  I decided at the last minute to stay longer so the kids could have more time to play with their cousins (Summer was also in town with her kids).  So sadly, we sent John home without us, and we stayed another week.  Here are the highlights of our trip.
Boston got acquainted with cousin Alex, by poking her face mostly.  He seems to think it's an appropriate way to show love.  Naomi knows this all too well.
One of the main purposes of this trip, was for the rest of my family to meet Naomi.  Alex is so funny, and said that she liked Naomi's lips, but wanted her to be born with long hair like hers.  She is the girliest girl I know.

But Noah's comments about Naomi are my favorite.  While he was holding her, patting her back, he touched her cheek and told my dad, "It's so soft.  Just like a fruit snack."  My husband, decided this was the perfect opportunity to confuse Noah to death, and told him the the more Nemo fruit snacks you eat, the softer and darker your skin gets.  A few days later Noah ran into the room, claiming he had softer skin because he just ate more fruit snacks.  Sorry Summer.
We took this kids and went to the Exploritorium in San Francisco.  It was really fun, but Tiff and I agreed, we remembered it being cooler when we took field trips there growing up.

Boss likes science...

Naomi likes sleeping

In my family, it would practically be a sin to come all the way to the Bay Area and NOT eat at Fentons, so we stopped there on the way home from SF.  My dad uses every opportunity to win Boston's affection with sweets.  It works.

While Naomi was not able to enjoy a crab salad sandwich, or black and tan sundae, she did get a lot of stares.  This girl draws a lot of attention.  Not sure if it is because she is cute/tiny/black with white parents/or just the fact that we were in Oakland... probably all of the above.

The kids ate ALL of their sundaes.  Even though they looked disgusting to the rest of us...

Before John left, we took some family pictures in my parents backyard.  The only other one we have of the 4 of us was in the hospital with Naomi and it was blurry.  Needless to say, it was difficult to get both kids to cooperate at once, but we got a few that are good enough for now. When the babes get a little older, we will try again.  Boston really needs to reach the age of bribery.
An even harder task... taking one of the two kids.  Practically impossible.  5 adults and 2 babies and this is the best we got.  Poor Naomi looks like she is getting tortured.
But on their own, they are both pretty darn cute.  Don't you think?

Such a daddy's girl.
John left for home without us the next day, but our adventure continued.  Part 2 coming up!

Looks like you had a great time with family!

The reason Naomi gets a lot of attention is definitely because she is so darn cute!

How fun! And what nice weather! Quite the shocker to come home to snow I'm sure... and you are brave to come home with 2 babes on the airplane by yourself... that alone would scare me! Looks like you guys had a lot of fun!

Your family is so cute, I love Naomi's boots and the pic with Boston poking her, so cute!. Oh and I agree, I made Ryan go to the Explortorium with me last summer and after I had talked it all up we were both a little disappointed.

Those pictures of just Boston and Naomi are hilarious! And I cannot believe you posted that picture of me looking ever so fat and pregnant. I guess I should just be glad you didn't post a picture of me scarfing down my crab salad sandwich and black and tan sundae at Fentons...
I'm glad I got to be there with you guys! And SO glad I finally got to meet Naomi! Love you sister!

Ummmm, I'm totally with you about the Exploratorium. When we went in fifth grade I kept thinking I was in a Willy Wonka type warped land or the Second Coming had come. Also, a crab salal sandwich and a black and tan is the ultimate meal. I would eat it for breakfast (with a side of peanut butter toast, of course.)
