the view from here

Boston has RSV.  We have been locked up in our house for over a week.  On friday, this is how Boston and I spent our day.  On the kitchen floor, snacking and drinking juice boxes.  We kept the front door open and watched the cars go by and the healthy neighborhood kids playing outside enjoying the sun.

Boston loved watching the boys play hoops across the street.  He is a little obsessed with balls, particularly the basketball variety.
He ran back and forth across the kitchen floor, probably practicing some moves to show the boys when he is feeling better.
So we did a little of that, and a lot of this (doses of motrin and tylenol, that is)

Oh, and where was Miss Naomi you ask?  She has been quarantined.  My bedroom was sterilized - and no one was allowed in or out without shedding their top layer of contaminated clothing, and bathing in Purell.  (That is her, by the way, laying on her tummy in her cradle)

The good news is, we have seen the worst of this awful virus, and Boston is happily on the mend.  The even better news is that Naomi (so far) seems to be symptom free - and we are praying it stays that way.  So the fact that my hands are dry, cracked and bleeding from all the hand sanitizer is totally worth it.
And let me tell you, it takes the love of a mother to do the dirty job I have been doing this last week.  And only his mom could still want to kiss this face.

It really is a miracle that Naomi has stayed RSV-free. I am sure it helps to have a diligent mom keeping everything sterile as well. I am actually letting myself get excited about you all coming out to visit (last week it didn't appear too promising so I wouldn't allow myself to think about it). Just 3 more days and you're home free and California bound!

It IS a miracle that Naomi didn't get sick (knock on wood). I hope everything works out for you guys to be able to still make your trip to Cali...it sounds much more promising now :) Boston looks so cute in these pictures, even with his snotty nose :)
