the Fourth

Happy Fourth of JULY!
The fourth of July is the Centerville parade. Since one of our Grease Monkey's and car washes are located in Centerville, we are in it. We take our old fashioned cars, get our blow up Monkey, order boxes and boxes of candy, wear our adorable Grease Monkey get-ups, and walk/ride the parade in the heat. It's always a little stressful, (ie; I was late, we run out of candy at the end, the T-bird overheats every year, and the model A truck died a couple times during the route) but it is always fun. I like seeing how many people in our community love our shop and wash, and it's always interesting to see how many people in the crowd yell out my husbands name. He is a popular guy in this town...
It is however, exhausting and every year it wipes the kids out. Boss was asleep the instant we were in the car to go home. We went home for a few hours to nap, then headed up to Grandma and Grandpa Clowards to have a family bbq and swim party.
The Bitton kids were still wiped out from the parade when we got there. Chesney slept on this chair like this for a few hours.
Whenever these babies are together I take pictures of them. They are one week apart and they are so cute together. They laid on their tummies like this facing each other for a long time. Naomi was so intrigued and would NOT look at me. She wouldn't take her eyes of Grayson.

The kids mustered up the energy to have a water party in the backyard. Boss is obsessed with hoses and just wanted to squirt anyone who was willing to come near him. Dad got him back in the end, and he made the funniest faces when the water was falling on him.
It turned into a funny game of Brecken and Jackson running and jumping over the slide to get in the pool while John shot them in the face with the hose. We got some video of this, and it's hilarious. The boys completely missed the pool a couple times. Boston stares at them in amazement (or intimidation) those older boys are crazy.

But you gotta love these kids.

An exhausting day, which made early church the next day all that much harder, but it was a fun holiday nonetheless.

Hope your FOURTH was as fun as ours!

What!? You get to be IN the parade?? While we were watching the Downers Grove parade, I told Randy I wanted to be in it! I was about to push everyone out of the way and jog in it with my BOB and just pretend like I was someone important :)
LOVE the pics of Boston playing in the water...so cute and funny! :)
