My Bonus Check

I loved this post I read a few days ago, which described perfectly why I was so anxiously awaiting my family pictures to come in the mail. She really sums up why moms need good pictures of our families.

To quote, in case you don't click the link, she says:

"A good family photograph on the wall is like an annual bonus. The pay cheque (that's Canadian for pay check), of course, comes in the form of hugs and kisses, tender moments and laughing. But a good family portrait, that's the bonus check that makes the rough patches worth it.

On the days when it seems like the diapers will never end, the dishes will never get done, laundry is never ending, there's still nothing in the oven for dinner and the kids are sassing it up something terrible... on those days we can look up on the wall and see our beautiful, happy children. We can see our family at its best, we can see an image that reminds us why this incredibly difficult job is, in fact, worth it."

So worth it.
