the last week or so

naomi got her very first pony's the other night.  we think they are to-die-for-cute.  unfortunately, the learning curve of how to do her hair is going to be bigger than i thought.  crap.
boss is just getting over the croup.  it was a very rough few days around here.  two crying babies.  one crazy mama.  he does not handle sickness well.  at all.  i wonder where he gets that from?
on a funny note.  i thought 'the croup' was a sickness my mother in law made up.  for real.  who knew it was a real thing??  i laughed out loud when the dr. said that is what he had.
my silly little girl does funny things.  like cross her ankles when she is comfy, clasp her fingers together and rest them on her belly when she is full, and rest her hand on her knee when she sleeps.  i think it's worth remembering.

and finally something un-kid related...

john let me have a few inches of our yard to plant a garden.  i am just dying to have some fresh tomatoes.  it will be a miracle if we can keep our dumb dog out of my garden and my plants in the ground.

on more non baby news... i have lots of fun things coming up!  john and i are taking a baby free trip to portland for our 4th wedding anniversary!  woo hoo!  pacific northwest here we come!  i'm so excited i almost want to make a paper chain countdown.  is that too much??  is it normal to be so excited to ditch your kids for a few days?
ahh, who cares.  i need it.  and i think i deserve it.  right, honey?

Love the pony's! We call them 'piggies' at our house. :) Don't worry, you'll get the hang of doing her hair soon enough and then you'll be looking for all kinds of cute things to put in her hair.
Funny that you've never heard of croup! lol I'm glad Boston is feeling better.

I love Naomi's hair...it will be so fun once you learn all the things you can do with it! (Someday, Kaylee might have enough hair for that too!)

I love your pictures, they are amazing! I love the pictures from when you were up at bear lake...the ones with you and your children are just precious! You seem like a fantastic mom!! (And happy late Bday!!)

I look forward to my anniversary every year probably 6 months prior because we get to ditch the kids and get out. That is completely normal. Anyone that feels different needs to get out more!

Such cute pictures! Boss looks so cute in the water and sand... life is great when the world is your sandbox!
The ponies are darling, and she is still cute as ever!
Have fun on the trip! Enjoy the time alone.... I think it makes you a better mother to get away for a few days, you come back refreshed and ready to take on the kids again!:)

Love the ponies and love her little eyebrows. She is precious. The croup reminds me of Anne of Green Gables and I didn't know people actually got it still. Glad that he's feeling better though!!!

I can't wait until I can have a garden! Good luck with it! I thought that croup was just an old-fashioned name for bad cough...who knew. Naomi's eye-brows are so expressive and I love how she clasps her fingers together- spencer used to do that too.

You do deserve a kid-free trip, sister. Now that I have one little baby, my mind cannot yet even grasp the concept of having two. Craziness.
I'm glad Boss is feeling better...and I love Naomi's ponies and funny sleeping positions. Can't wait to see you and Naomi in 6 more weeks... love you! xoxo

Freak, Naomi is looking so old and cute I'm about to die! Thank goodness I get to see her in July. I just wish I could kiss Boss too : )

I can't wait for your trip to Portland. You're gonna LOVE leaving those kiddos behind for a few days. Nothing to feel guilty about : )

And could you please send me some fresh tomatoes?

hi Michele, Thanks for your comment. I do read the R blog and love it. Also, I was just reading your sidebar- I love that quote about abundance/lack of abundance existing simultaneously. I have it hanging on my mirror right now. Beautiful pics of Naomi by the way.

Hey, I found your blog and loved it! Your kids are adorable! My husband and I have been in the adoption process for 2 years and began with LDS Family Services. We have branched out to heart to heart adoptions and have a match! Our birthmother is being induced July 3rd and we are hoping it goes through! I love your stories and love to find adoptive couples I can relate to!!
