We went to the Hogle Zoo with some friends on probably the hottest day of the summer in July. Boston liked it more than I thought he would, though he is convinced every thing on 4 legs is a "doggie". Better yet, I liked it more than I thought I would, after going to the San Francisco Zoo all my life, and the San Diego Zoo a lot, I thought Hogle Zoo would be kind of a joke, but I was pleasantly surprised. Very clean, just the right size, not too crowded, and can get pretty close to a lot of the animals. I liked it.
This elephant makes loud noises and Boss was terrified of it. He clung to John while we walked away, and every time we passed it he would not turn his back to it, so he walked backwards so he could keep an eye on that giant "doggie".
Other things I liked about the zoo... the misting fans they have all over! They were my favorite attraction! And the fact that I only paid like $4 dollars for a small diet coke instead of the $12 they charge at any park in California. But that might be a mild exaggeration. The one thing I hated, the steep hills. Someone should have photographed me and Brooke pushing our double strollers up those hills... our arms were above our heads (can you get a mental image?) My butt muscles were most definitely sore the next day...
So basically the moral of this boring blog story is, I don't know what "Hogle" is, but thanks for having a pretty cool zoo.
