Got wireless internet today.
Adding it to my list of life changing technology:
1. DVR
2. Emails to phone
3. Wi Fi
What have I been waiting for?? I'll never sit at my kitchen table again!
If this is how amazing it would feel to John if he got HDTV, then he probably deserves it, because this is awesome.
So that this post can serve a purpose, and I can justify being awake at 12:20am, here is a request. An orphanage in Port Au Prince, called Foyer de Sion, is partners with an agency here in Utah. The agency is supporting that orphanage through donations and sending them down on planes about once a week along with volunteers from the Utah Hospital Task Force and the agency. This orphanage has about 300 children, ages 0-16, and they are in desperate need. I'm collecting all I can for this week, to deliver to their drop off point so it can make it on the next chartered flight. Their most desperate needs right now are cloth diapers and milk based infant formula.
Here is a complete list of needed items:
Water sanitation supplies
PERSONAL CARE ITEMS:
Toothbrushes/toothpaste
Soap
Childrens vitamins
Combs/Hair brushes
Hand sanitizer - small travel size preferred
FIRST AID SUPPLIES:
Gauze
Neosporin
Cortizone cream
Medical tape
Alcohol swabs
Iodine swabs
Cotton balls
Chewable childrens Tylenol and Ibuprofen
First aid tape
PLEASE NO BAND AIDS
I know a lot of you have probably already donated money to a charity, but if you are like me, sometimes giving something physical feels better. Like you actually did something that will make a difference. I have full faith and trust in this organization, and I hope that if you are reading this and live here in Utah, that you will be willing to help. Even a small can of formula can go a long way for a child. I'll gather donations until this friday morning, February 5th. If you would like to donate, drop it by my house, or I can come pick it up. If you don't know me, but happen to be reading this by chance, you can email me shelicloward @ hotmail . com
**I added plenty of links above so you can click to read anything you want about the Agency, the Orphanage, their specific donation page, or the Utah Hospital Task Force. That way you can be comfortable knowing you are donating to a real cause, and all the donations will go directly to those children.
